Who is Simone?

Simone Sullivan is a multi-faceted designer with a purpose in community-building. Her work ranges from creative direction and set design to fashion design and styling.

With an upbringing in Miami, Florida, she understood at an early age the lack of access to creative arts that many children in her neighborhood had. Her background in design began early on when she would watch her talented grandmother modify and sew pure magic into her uniforms. In 2016, Simone graduated from Parsons the New School for Design with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design.

Sullivan’s notable work highlights a diverseness in her portfolio. Her ability to create dynamic pieces has led her to work with phenomenal individuals and companies. In September 2019, Simone’s designs were featured in rapper Bas’s music video titled “Jollof Rice” which not only exuded excellence through vibrant colors and silhouettes but also promoted various aspects of the Black diaspora. She has since worked with Madison McFerrin, Melanie Charles and Ari Lennox to name a few. Simone’s work has also been published in Essence Magazine and other notable fashion blogs. Her experience with Nike’s Serena Williams Design Crew (2020) allowed her expertise in apparel design to flourish.

Simone has held various roles within the fashion industry; from Product Development Manager and Women’s Wear Design to Fabric Coordinator and Stylist. All of which intertwine and aid in her ability to communicate with partners both domestic and overseas. Her experience in each role has also allowed her to work seamlessly with her cross functional teams within the companies she has worked.
